yadi manyase su vedeti dabhramevāpi nūnaṁ tvaṁ vettha brahmaṇo rūpaṁ yadasya tvaṁ yadasya deveṣvatha nu mīmāṁsyameva te manye viditam ॥ 1 ॥
evaṁ heyopādeyaviparītastvamātmā brahmeti pratyāyitaḥ śiṣyaḥ ahameva brahmeti suṣṭhu vedāhamiti mā gṛhṇīyādityāśayādāhācāryaḥ śiṣyabuddhivicālanārtham — yadītyādi । nanviṣṭaiva su vedāham iti niścitā pratipattiḥ । satyam , iṣṭā niścitā pratipattiḥ ; na hi su vedāhamiti । yaddhi vedyaṁ vastu viṣayībhavati, tatsuṣṭhu vedituṁ śakyam , dāhyamiva dagdhum agnerdagdhuḥ na tvagneḥ svarūpameva । sarvasya hi vedituḥ svātmā brahmeti sarvavedāntānāṁ suniścito'rthaḥ । iha ca tadeva pratipāditaṁ praśnaprativacanoktyā
‘śrotrasya śrotram’ (ke. u. 1 । 2) ityādyayā ।
‘yadvācānabhyuditam’ (ke. u. 1 । 5) iti ca viśeṣato'vadhāritam । brahmavitsampradāyaniścayaścoktaḥ
‘anyadeva tadviditādatho aviditādadhi’ (ke. u. 1 । 4) iti । upanyastamupasaṁhariṣyati ca
‘avijñātaṁ vijānatāṁ vijñātamavijānatām’ (ke. u. 2 । 3) iti । tasmādyuktameva śiṣyasya su vedeti buddhiṁ nirākartum । na hi veditā vediturvedituṁ śakyaḥ, agnirdagdhuriva dagdhumagneḥ । na cānyo veditā brahmaṇo'sti yasya vedyamanyatsyādbrahma ।
‘nānyadato'sti vijñātṛ’ (bṛ. u. 3 । 8 । 11) ityanyo vijñātā pratiṣidhyate । tasmāt suṣṭhu vedāhaṁ brahmeti pratipattirmithyaiva । tasmādyuktamevāhācāryo yadītyādi । yadi kadācit manyase su vedeti suṣṭhu vedāhaṁ brahmeti । kadācidyathāśrutaṁ durvijñeyamapi kṣīṇadoṣaḥ sumedhāḥ kaścitpratipadyate kaścinneti sāśaṅkamāha yadītyādi । dṛṣṭaṁ ca
‘ya eṣo'kṣiṇi puruṣo dṛśyata eṣa ātmeti hovācaitadamṛtamabhayametadbrahma’ (chā. u. 8 । 7 । 4) ityukte prājāpatyaḥ paṇḍito'pyasurarāḍvirocanaḥ svabhāvadoṣavaśādanupapadyamānamapi viparītamarthaṁ śarīramātmeti pratipannaḥ । tathendro devarāṭ sakṛddvistriruktaṁ cāpratipadyamānaḥ svabhāvadoṣakṣayamapekṣya caturthe paryāye prathamoktameva brahma pratipannavān । loke'pi ekasmādguroḥ śṛṇvatāṁ kaścidyathāvatpratipadyate kaścidayathāvat kaścidviparītaṁ kaścinna pratipadyate । kimu vaktavyamatīndriyamātmatattvam । atra hi vipratipannāḥ sadasadvādinastārkikāḥ sarve । tasmādviditaṁ brahmeti suniścitoktamapi viṣamapratipattitvāt yadi manyase ityādi sāśaṅkaṁ vacanaṁ yuktamevācāryasya । dabhram alpamevāpi nūnaṁ tvaṁ vettha jānīṣe brahmaṇo rūpam । kimanekāni brahmaṇo rūpāṇi mahāntyarbhakāṇi ca, yenāha dabhramevetyādi ? bāḍham । anekāni hi nāmarūpopādhikṛtāni brahmaṇo rūpāṇi, na svataḥ । svatastu
‘aśabdamasparśamarūpamavyayaṁ tathārasaṁ nityamagandhavacca yat’ (ka. u. 1 । 3 । 15) iti śabdādibhiḥ saha rūpāṇi pratiṣidhyante । nanu yenaiva dharmeṇa yadrūpyate tadeva tasya svarūpamiti brahmaṇo'pi yena viśeṣeṇa nirūpaṇaṁ tadeva tasya svarūpaṁ syāt । ata ucyate — caitanyam , pṛthivyādīnāmanyatamasya sarveṣāṁ vipariṇatānāṁ vā dharmo na bhavati, tathā śrotrādīnāmantaḥkaraṇasya ca dharmo na bhavatīti brahmaṇo rūpamiti brahma rūpyate caitanyena । tathā coktam ।
‘vijñānamānandaṁ brahma’ (bṛ. u. 3 । 9 । 7) ‘vijñānaghana eva’ (bṛ. u. 2 । 4 । 12) ‘satyaṁ jñānamanantaṁ brahma’ (tai. u. 2 । 1 । 1) ‘prajñānaṁ brahma’ (ai. u. 3 । 1 । 3) iti ca brahmaṇo rūpaṁ nirdiṣṭaṁ śrutiṣu । satyamevam ; tathāpi tadantaḥkaraṇadehendriyopādhidvāreṇaiva vijñānādiśabdairnirdiśyate, tadanukāritvāddehādivṛddhisaṅkocacchedādiṣu nāśeṣu ca, na svataḥ । svatastu
‘avijñātaṁ vijānatāṁ vijñātamavijānatām’ (ke. u. 2 । 3) iti sthitaṁ bhaviṣyati । ‘yadasya brahmaṇo rūpam’ iti pūrveṇa sambandhaḥ । na kevalamadhyātmopādhiparicchinnasyāsya brahmaṇo rūpaṁ tvamalpaṁ vettha ; yadapyadhidaivatopādhiparicchinnasyāsya brahmaṇo rūpaṁ deveṣu vettha tvam , tadapi nūnaṁ dabhrameva vettha iti manye'ham । yadadhyātmaṁ yadapi deveṣu tadapi copādhiparicchinnatvāddabhratvānna nivartate । yattu vidhvastasarvopādhiviśeṣaṁ śāntamanantamekamadvaitaṁ bhūmākhyaṁ nityaṁ brahma, na tatsuvedyamityabhiprāyaḥ । yata evam atha nu tasmāt manye adyāpi mīmāṁsyaṁ vicāryameva te tava brahma । evamācāryoktaḥ śiṣyaḥ ekānte upaviṣṭaḥ samāhitaḥ san , yathoktamācāryeṇa āgamamarthato vicārya, tarkataśca nirdhārya, svānubhavaṁ kṛtvā, ācāryasakāśamupagamya, uvāca — manye'hamathedānīṁ viditaṁ brahmeti ॥
